Can Mental Health be Affordable, Accessible, and Attainable?

Mental Health is in a dire situation that has only been exacerbated by a global pandemic over the last 18 months.

  • 61% of adults with any mental illness did not receive treatment nationwide.

  • Florida is 43rd in the nation for access to mental health care.

  • Miami-Dade ranked #1 in Florida for the county with the highest number of suicides and homicides in 2017.

These statistics burden our heart for our community, our state and our country. You can learn more about Mental Health in Florida through a recent report by Florida Behavioral Health Association.

BUT... we believe there is hope!

Wellspring is working hard to make mental health affordable, accessible, and attainable.

Mental Health can be Affordable

Wellspring employs a variety of strategies to provide services at a reasonable cost, as well as offering financial aid options. Funds for these programs are raised thought grant applications, fundraising events, corporate and individual sponsorships, and our participation in the annual Give Miami Day happening on November, 18, 2021.

Mental Health can be Accessible

While we had begun to implement the structures necessary for Telehealth prior to March of 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic confirmed the need for this digital option. Telehealth has allowed us to serve people without access to reliable transportation as well as those that beyond our immediate Miami-Dade area.

Mental Health can be Attainable

Wellspring has a variety of alternative methods to receiving mental health education and services.

On Give Miami Day, you're invited to join as Wellspring supporters come together to help raise funds for our cause of Mental Health Matters in Miami.

The 24-hour giving day begins at 12 a.m. EST on November 18 and ends at 11:59 p.m. EST.

We will also be hosting an In-Person Open House Party!

Where: Old Cutler Presbyterian Church

When: 8am-5pm - come and go!

What: An open invitation to visit our office at Old Cutler Presbyterian Church. We will have goodie bags for the first 5 people during each hour in-person!

Special Times to Attend In-Person or Online

  • 8-9am - $2500 Matching Hour - Learn more about our Marriage and Parenting Resources and Services

  • 9-10am - GMD Power Hour - Learn more about the Trauma Education and Expertise

    • *Gifts between $25 and $10,000 made between 10:00 and 10:59am will be elligible for Power Hour funds through The Miami Foundation.

  • 1-2pm - $2500 Matching Hour - Learn more about the DER (Disaster Emotional Relief Team)

  • 4-5pm - $5000 Matching Hour - Learn more about Bounce and the Dr. Edward Burke Fund for Youth
